pre-order packages

Post by EarthCancer on Tue Sep 14, 2010 8:21 pm

What do y'all think of the pre-order packages? They look awesome (of course) but i don't like the idea of cutting content and making it only available through specific retailers. Especially since, if i had to choose, i'd go with the psycho and i don't like what i've heard about amazon's reliability on delivery dates. i will not settle for anything less than this game in my hands the SECOND it drops. Thoughts/opinions?

there are four packs, seen here and two of them, psycho and spec ops, have guns, a silencer and a scope that you apparently can't get in the game, you have to get them through the pre-order and that's my issue. Unless you buy a copy from amazon and one from walmart, you will not have access to all of the game's guns. this angers me.

Fallout 3 was a good game but the pack is kinda gay. Never really liked DOOM. So when i get to pre-ordering. Its gonna be the spec-ops or the Psycho. Prolly spec-ops. Thanks btw for showing me that. +reputation

yeah, i REALLY want the fallout package but it offers nothing too unique, just skins. if you want access to more guns, you really have to go with spec ops or psycho which in turn just boils down to which side you want to play first (i heard you will have to finish one team's side before you can start the other, can anyone confirm/deny this?). I'm loving the look for the psycho pack. anyone have any experience with ordering from amazon? i'm really tempted to get it from them but if there's a midnight release anywhere that is without question where i will be getting mine from.

BAH! Idk what to choose. Both the resistance and security look sweet. I like the resistance more, but when BRINK comes out its obviously gonna be Resistance>Security (population wise)

Amazon shipping has never been a problem for me. I've ordered countless games and other things from there, and sometimes they've gotten to me a couple days before it said it would, which is why I always choose the basic shipping.

I personally like the spec ops one. Not too sure why. Only problem is I hate walmart!

thanks, mykk, that eases my worries about what i've heard about amazon. i don't think anyone's a fan of walmart but if they start selling it at 00:01 on release date and no one else does then that's where i'd go. as for the resistance/security population, that's been a concern of mine for a while too. i think there was a poll i saw on an official site however that looked fairly even. both sides are going to be fun to play but i think ultimately the side i play first will come down to picking whichever side i think has the least amount of players in an attempt to balance things out.

I'm a HUGE MAG fan. When that game came out it had extra detail armor if you preordered it. I didnt so I ended up without the extras until the DLC came out later. It all depends if you want it now or later. I just hope it doesnt end up like boderlands. Buy a "60" dollar game with 40$ of DLC's. COME on!? LoL

Mag looked kewl, not gonna bother buying it tho. 100sum players is kewl definetly, but they put to much time into that aspect, than working on the gameplay.

I don't like that either. You can only get those by pre-ordering? That seems kind of lame to me, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was released in DLC later. I just hope it's not too expensive for just having some extra guns.

I can see it having so many gun/clothing DLCs to the point of it being ridiculous. We need DLcs in moderation.

Nice, but you know what? I think i'm gonna be hanging at Wal-Mart when Brink comes out to pick up my pre-ordered Spec-Ops addition.

But i'm surprised Gamestop/EB Games isnt getting some sort of special deal. Normally Bethesda gives them a lil something special.

gamestop does have a special deal; the doom skins. they just don't offer anything extra besides that. if you actually want an extra gun, scope or silencer, you have to go with walmart or amazon for their specific pre order packs. or wait till they release it all as dlc haha
